Just wanted to let you know that we are the proud owners of one of Oscars pups who we got from a breeder near Hexham in March 2009, he looks so much like oscar and is adorable in every way. He is a solid, healthy pup, so intelligent and obedient that he is just a pleasure to train. Oscar sure is one top stud dog.

we are about to mate our two chocolate cockers and would appreciate some advice on the impending birth of the puppies ie is there special arrangements needed and do they have to be seperated for the birth as they have been kenneled outside since they were puppies themselves.

As a reply to the below comment; as long as there are no similarities in the first 3 generations breeding is safe and acceptable. FT CH Jasper Of Parkbreck in this instance is the closest relative and he is back at the fourth generation.

Heya Richard, My mum Jillian recieved the e-mail that you sent to her and we would like to thank you for the information. Looking through my dogs pedigree and through Oscars pedigree it appears that Oscar and Heidi (My dogs name) are related in atleast three ways, through FT CH Werrnfawd Pawn, FT CH Jade Of Livermere and FT CH Jasper Of Parkbreck. Im absolutely stumped as to whether we would be able to mate Heidi with Oscar because of this?, I would imagine not because of obvious reasons?

Sorry for anyone receiving the error message when using the contact us page. The messages did actually get through to me. The error you saw was related to the confirmation email sent to the email address provided when submitting the form, mostly with Hotmail accounts. I have since fixed this.

Our fantastic litter was born on Thursday morning, 3 bitches and 3 dogs. Our bitch was a brilliant Mum and nuzzled the new borns vigorously, licking them madly and now is even reluctant to go for a walk - gets half way across the field and wants to return home! It was great to have looked on your site and your videos in particular and know what we could expect. Thanks for a brilliantly supportive web site.

I am now waiting for my 18 month old working cocker to come into her second season and be mated for the first time. I found your website very interesting. If we have a successful mating, I am concerned about having the pups docked and found the article about docking very useful. I would rather not have the pups docked, but obviously if someone wants one as a working dog then I presume I would have to ?

Hi i''m a new cocker own and everything is new for me. My cocker is getting to the age to where she will be coming into mating season I beleive, but I do not know when i should expect her first cycle. This is very interesting! So, I do not want to mate her the very first time around, so when should be a time to mate. Should it be when she is three years old, would that be a good time to mate or what do u suggest. Thank u Shorty

I have been meaning to let you know how very helpful your site has been to me throuout the first pregnancy of our bitch - and our first litter! The pups arrived on the 1st September, four lovely dogs and the bitch we wanted for ourselves! The owner of the stud dog, was, and still is, a tower of strength! It is so nice to find cocker breeders are so generous in their advice. Very heartening! Another breeder has asked if you might put some advice about rearing a litter up, too. This would be great if you can do it We have just advertised on this site, so are hoping for the phone to ring any day now Thanks again

Richard, Just a quick note to thank you very much for your words of wisdom! Ebony delivered 5 very healthy puppies early hours of Saturday morning, and with one breach birth, your tips were brilliant and faultless and certainly helped in recovering this puppy. I just hope now that I can find homes for the 4 little boys, or perhaps someone would like to swap a bitch for one of the dogs??? Thanks again.

It was not someting we entered into lightly and have considered all aspect, however, any recommendations or help you can give is greatly appreciated. I have had a good look through the website and must say it is one of the most informative I have found on the subject, books are good, but first hand experience and comments are better! Hi, I just found your site on Google after looking for some advice about breeding cocker spaniels and please don't misunderstand me as the info i found here was very helpful but i couldn't find anything about rearing the litter. Any chance you could add some info on rearing to your site? Cheers Dave

We just wanted to say thank you for your incredibly generous help with breeding our first litter of cocker spaniels. We couldn't have managed without the help we got from you and your help throughout the whole process from mating to advertising the pups was more than we ever could of expected. It has to be said my husband's main concern with having a litter was finding homes for them all but was soon reassured when you had found homes for all but 2 before they were even born and the final 2 within a week of birth from the advert on this site. I'm so glad we found this site and decided to use Oscar, not only did we produce fine healthy pups but never had to worry throughout the whole breeding experience. Many thanks again. Lucy H
